Wedding Colors: What is the Trend? Traditions and What's New

Dear Brides, Grooms and anyone wanting to know what's happening in the wedding industry today.

Weddings have traditionally been two to three colors then everything a Bride and Groom chose for the wedding was in those colors.  Today's Bride and Groom is not limited to those choices.

The choices for today tend to be color palettes, hues of colors, complementary colors or just the couples favorite colors.  Most choices give more options for the decor and make bold beautiful statements.

Personally, I love the color hues and complementary color spectrum like Charcoal, Black, Raspberry and Blush and White.  I believe this will be one of the next hottest color trends.

Another hot color trend is to add a metal like bronze, silver or gold into the mix.  These colors tend to be the accent colors vs. the main color but with little to no rules each couple can decide what they like best.

Really when you think about it these trends incorporating
more colors make sense, after all there always were more than

two colors at any wedding or party now couples are just acknowledging all there choices.

So remember the new trend is to select three to five colors with or without a metal.

When to have a Small Courhouse Wedding vs. Traditional Wedding

Dear Brides and Grooms to Be,

This topic came up recently when I was asked to price out bouquets for a bride, for her bridesmaids that would look good in pictures but be so inexpensive that a bridesmaid would pay for her own flowers.

I'm thinking wow does this Bride really understand what she is doing to her friends?  She is taking away the "thanks for being my bridesmaid" and adding it to the burden of being a bridesmaid.

Which traditionally is the following:

Dress
Shoes
Undergarments
Hair
Nails
Travel
Accommodations
Food
Present for the Bride and Groom
Shower/Bachelorette Present

These items are running bridesmaids an average of $600 per wedding.

So I'm thinking this person should really rethink having a traditional wedding and opt for a less expensive alternative like a wedding at the court house.  After all when everything is said and done your still married and you have not gotten yourself in debt and chances are you still have your friends.

Fall 2014 Colors and News what's hot with Weddings

What's hot with Weddings?  This season's color is not your usual fall color it's Blush pink.  This has literally stolen the fall 2014 show and it has flower growers scrambling for more blush colored flowers to make those beautiful creations and arrangements.  Likely if you are in a pinch use light pink for that blushish color.  Remember this season any thing goes but Blush is the color of choice!

Happy Planning!

Why Flowers Make a Wedding So Special!

Wedding Flowers are a timeless tradition for every Bride. They add to the ambiance, beauty and smell wonderful. For ages women have enjoyed carrying beautiful flowers on the most important day of their lives, their Wedding Day.

Flowers all have special meanings, they transcend cultures and are timeless reminders of joy and happiness. The smell and the beauty of the flowers can be enjoyed all day, the beauty of the flowers enhance pictures and are remembered for a lifetime.

It is a long honored tradition to recognize family and special friends with flowers as well as the entire wedding party. It identifies that they are special to the Bride and Groom. Flowers are a wonderful reminder of the wedding and are often preserved or dried as a memento.

Not having flowers at a Wedding is the equivalent of not wearing a special dress, doing your hair or smelling good on that most special of days.

What if you are allergic or just don't like flowers?  You can use flowers you are not allergic too, grains, herbs or alternatives like silk, paper, fabric, or jewelry to create the beautiful accents for your special day.

Flowers are an investment so make sure and talk with your florist about how to make the most of your budget for flowers and decor to make your wedding the amazing day of your dreams.
